I have always had a problem with Nizar qabany poetry. There is something that bothered me about It but i just could not point it.
i mean the man loves women, to the point of adoration even!!
what's MY problem with that exactly?
I cannot deny I liked some of his poetry. I would not seek it though, I would only read what comes in my way -whether by chance or recommendation-.

yet lately and with a couple of unpleasant incedent that accord to me i realized why i have problems with nizar
my problem is "When someone refers me to Nizar", that is my issue.
I do not want the "woman/muse" model.
I do not have an issue with being an inspiration or a muse, in fact who wouldn't want to!
But I do have an issue with this being what defines me.
I have an issue with this forming a screen between "who I am" and "how you perceive me to be".
Because I must stay young, and lovely, and sweet, and happy. I _must_ stay this person.
I must not worry or doubt or question. I must not feel insecure. Even when you like my imperfections, you like them as part of my muse-being, just like you would admire a chip in the body of a lovely sculpture, just like you admire Venus without arms.
I think there is no problem to be identified as a "muse”.
ReplyDeleteWe love or get into a relation with someone because we see something unique in that person,
Something brings out the very best in us. We see a special quality that joins us to them.
This happens in the early stages of any relation “The muse stage “ .
Then after the "muse stage" fades, the “Who you are “stage starts.
At this stage Where "who you are” for both of you will be either the bonds that holds the relation to go into the companionate love or the reason for everyone to go his way.
So, you cannot jump over the second stage without passing through the first one.

HOSSAM,
ReplyDeleteas i clearly said in my post no one including myself have problems with being an inspiration (amuse) but what bothers me is that it be the first thing that attracts you to me as you called it first stage, its like when you meet a very smart, enlightened talkative girl and it happens that she is super duper good looking then all you'lll see in her is how she looks and for me this is unfair and unacceptable too.
hey sara
ReplyDeletejust i wana say that we love the poems of nizar due to the picture that he always draw about women and love this angelic picture about women we always want it but in real its not found cuz as u said every one has his own imperfections.
the beauty of poetry and art generally is in this heaven they create about human which has no faults or imperfections .
if nizars poems wasnt full of romance we lost in our life we wouldnt read it or love him we always search for the beatiful feelings we lost in our life like romance even in poem or track of music
ta7yaty :)

Sarah,
ReplyDeletePhysical appearance is the first thing we may notice about someone.
Everyone judges by appearance, this is a fact of life.
You cannot go to a job interview or meeting someone for the first time and you go looking messy because you are very smart and enlightened. I'm sure that you yourself will go looking the best you can.
If a noble prize winner 60 years old lady inter a room full of men and a beautiful young lady entered this room in the same time , All men will be attracted to the young beautiful lady .this is a human nature in men , yes it is unfair but it is a fact we have to deal with.
However, the good news is that the physical appearance becomes a diminishing factor in the long-run.
So no one will be attracted to you for a long time if you are not smart and enlightened.
Being open minded makes all the difference here in how we treat other people through our life. Accepting the human nature defects and to build more bridges than building walls around us will allow us to understand a lot of things in life .

Hossam
